Nextwave Multimedia launches series of 3D cricket games on multiple platforms

Thursday, June 2nd, 2011

Nextwave Multimedia launches three cricket games in 3D, ‘World Cricket Championship’, ‘Street Cricket’ and ‘Beach Cricket’. With rich visuals, realistic animation and crisp camera movements the game easily transports the gamer to the scene of action. It imbibes the thrill, fun, and high voltage drama of limited over cricket very convincingly.

The 3 cricket games are developed for multiple platforms - Windows OS, Apple Mac; iOS devices (iPhone, iPad, iPod Touch), and Android OS.

A team of 15 artists, animators and programmers worked on the games for a year to achieve the desired result.

Street Cricket is the first 3D cricket game with Augmented reality (AR) incorporated. This mode allows you to play the game on any flat surface; table top, on the floor, palm of your hand and more….. This version will be soon on android and ipad.

Technology behind the game

Blender: Low polygonal 3D modelling, uv unwrapping, rigging, character animation and seamless game environment are completely done with Blender 2.49.

Unity 3D: The completed assets were exported from Blender and put together through Unity 3D game engine. The same was used to achieve inbuilt physics in the ball movement, sunlight effect, collision impacts, audio simulations and players animation, which create an overall realistic ambience, simulating a live match
