The Global Game Jam (GGJ) is the world’s largest game creation event. GGJ attracts thousands of participants at hundreds of physical and virtual sites in over a hundred countries around the world. It is a great platform for people from all backgrounds to participate and contribute to the global spread of game development and creativity. As in a hackathon, participants of GGJ come together for a short period of time to create games around a central theme which is revealed at the commencement of the jam. The theme for Global Game Jam 2023 is ROOTS.
